Freebie Friday + My Grocery List

It's two for one here with Dr. Hooper today! The first part of my blog prescription is Freebie Friday.
This week it was toothpaste. It's only a 4.6 oz tube but hey, it was free!

The second part of this blog is my shopping list. I only had 75 dollars in my account to last until August 6th. So what kind of cheap crap was I able to buy? Let's take a look at my shopping list! Along with the free toothpaste, I only spent $53.34 all together. Which leaves some money for a few pizzas tonight which means Dr. Hooper doesn't have to cook.

Young children, take a good look at this image. This is all you can get for $53.34 these days. Pretty depressing, huh? My dad told me when he was little, Grandpa used to get twice as much food for what it costs now. Anyway, here's everything I got:

2.62 lbs. Bananas $1.47
1 gallon ice cream $5.89
2 packages cereal bars $4.38
.46 lbs. celery $.46
Corn @ 5 for $1.00
Lays chips @ 2 for $5.00
Fajita seasoning $.69
2 packets Taco seasoning $.94
BBQ sauce @ 3 for $2.67
A dozen tortillas $2.19
Go-gurt $1.99
Colgate toothpaste $0.00
2 loaves bread $1.96
Bacon $2.98
Country style ribs @ 4.63 lbs. for $13.84
2.5 gal Water (not pictured) $2.19
Artificial Sweetener (for hubby's sweet tea) $5.69

A lot of these items are just ingredients and side dishes for meals that I already had. When I actually have to buy meals for the week, I spend about $130 on average. Leave a comment and tell me what your average shopping trip costs!
